Here it is, the obligatory and existential "why I blog" statement.
The primary motivation endeavors to capture my own thoughts. My mind drifts to something and I later remember the topic but the intricacies are gone. This blog exists to clarify the mind, capture and express those thoughts. An open journal of sorts.
The secondary agenda is to write - for the pleasure of expression and improvement thereof.
In practice, what to expect? I expect to express two forms of thought, noting things of interest, and delving into others. A combination of the essay and portal style blog. Topics will run the gambit, but I expect will tend toward my interests, open source software, human organization, tropical fish, and many others.
Why "Blog ho!"? I have always thought it would be great to be a pirate. The freedom to roam the seas, do as you wish, take what you want, and say things like "Arrgh!" is irresistible. This blog is my attempt to find the intellectual analogy of such freedom.
