My favorite bar recently installed wireless. I was sitting here going on and on about Longhorn and Microsoft and Office and Linux and so on, then my anebriated finger hit the wrong button and lost the whole damn thing.
Ok, so here's the short version. The server version of Longhorn was delayed until 2007. The desktop version has already been delayed until 2006. This could create a good opportunity for Linux to gain ground on the desktop, and by gaining ground on the desktop also errode sales from MS's cash cow, Office. In this case, a court ordered break up of MS might have made a difference. A seperate Office division would probably be busy porting to Linux of reports of Linux desktop market share overtaking Apple are true.
