Even the worms have worms Print E-mail

When virus writers can count on enough machines being already infected with another virus to use a flaw in that virus to infect the machine you know things are out of hand. The Dabber worm exploits a flaw in Sasser.

Previous worms have used backdoors left behind by other worms, but this one uses a flaw in the FTP server left behind by Sasser. Another example of the shortening window of vulnerability. The time between vulnerability discovery and working exploit is getting shorter and shorter.
