Microsoft recently released Service Pack 1 for Office 2003. I read through the extensive list of fixes and found one that Microsoft quietly included. According to this articleMicrosoft is discontinuing the Internet Free/Busy service.
I wonder if anyone at the DOJ caught that one... In a nutshell, the Internet Free/Busy service is a way for users of Outlook to share calendars with each other. Sounds like another wierd product disconnect. Seems like allowing people to share calendars is a good thing, but not when you're trying to sell Exchange servers. As this former Microsoft employee points out these strange disconnects are nothing new.
